Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  Do I need to buy a software program to access spreadsheets?

A.   Nope! You already have free access to a spreadsheet program, Google spreadsheets – as long as you have an Internet connection, a computer or laptop, and a Google or Gmail account. Please view the following resources for a step-by-step approach: 1) Video: Accessing and Saving Spreadsheet, 2) Post: How do I access spreadsheets?

Q. If I want to use Microsoft Excel, can I still benefit from Spreadsheet Solving?
A. Definitely. Nearly everything you learn on our videos and website can be directly applied to major spreadsheet programs, including Microsoft Excel and Google spreadsheets. For example, functions, which are pre-set formulas, are exactly the same across both programs (with the exception of a few such as Google Finance).

Q.  Why do you use Google spreadsheets in your video tutorials?
A.  The universal accessibility of Google spreadsheets is the biggest reason. We love how Google spreadsheets are free and offers easy access anywhere and real-time collaboration. Our goal is to teach you the fundamentals of spreadsheet skills, problem-solving, and data analysis.
